Uses the Faraday Principle of
Electromagnetic Energy: if an electric conductor such as copper wire, is
moved through a magnetic field (like a magnet), or vice-versa an electric
current will flow to the conductor.
In our case the permanent magnet moves
trough a copper coil.
This current then flows to a small capacitor
which will temporarily store it to provide the power necessary to power the
super bright LED. 30 seconds of quick shaking (you must fill the travel of
the magnet inside) will produce enough electricity to power up the light for
up to 5 continuous minutes. An excellent choice in emergency kits and

How is the brightness of the flashlight measured?
The brightness is measured in LUX, the metric brightness measurement. The
brightness of the flashlight is 7400 LUX at zero feet. Zero feet being one
inch in front of the lens. To convert to English terms, 1 LUX = 0.929 Foot
Candles, and one foot candle is the amount of light one square foot a
surface receives when it's one foot away from a candle.
If I shake the flashlight for more than thirty seconds,
can I get more than five minutes of burn time?
Generally speaking five minutes is the duration; you may get more but, at
most only a couple of minutes. The longer you shake it the brighter the
light. Keep in mind, once the light dims you can shake it again for 15 to 30
seconds and full power is restored. You will never be without light so long
as you are physically able to shake the flashlight. You can not over shake
it and because it does not use a conventional bulb you never have to worry
about burning the bulb out.
Will the light work well in adverse conditions?
The light works in all adverse conditions. It is completely waterproof and
it floats. Temperature has no effect. It is made from a high density impact
resistant plastic. Even though, it is NOT made to be thrown onto the ground,
if dropped it will continue to operate without any adverse effects.
One note, it is made from high density plastic. As such,
there is a tolerance to heat. Like most plastics it will melt if subjected
to heat in excess of 140o F.
How can the light bulb never wear out?
Because we use a LED source instead of a conventional bulb.
